Guidance
Services at GMS
Glenridge Middle School has a Comprehensive Guidance Program developed
to ensure
student success. This includes academic, social, personal and career
education activities.
Counselors attend parent conferences, analyze test results, prepare
schedules, determine
placement for classes and facilitate transition from grade to grade and
school to school.
Counselors oversee 504 plans and AIP plans, are part of the IEP and
ESOL teams.
Academic progress is monitored by counselors.
In addition to academic services, social personal counseling is
available to students
during the school day. Guidance counselors provide short term or crisis
counseling. Our
school is fortunate to also have on site professionals and therapists
who counsel our
students facing challenges.
*SAFE* Glenridge students may also
participate in the SAFE program. Counseling
services are provided which include peer mediation, anger management
and individual
counseling.

provides the services of a certified school
psychologist on a part time basis. Our psychologist is part of the
counseling team and

services. She facilitates referrals for students with attendance issues
and makes home

the CHILL program. The CHILL counselor is on campus daily. There is no
